Get your own bike
There are plenty of bike types out there, each built for specific goals in mind. If you've been on a ride share bike for the past few days, you've likely been riding a hybrid cruiser. They're heavy, comfortable and indestructible.
But now's the time to start thinking about what you'd want to use a bike for: commuting to work? racing the streets? jumping on trails? There's an affordable bike for that.
We highly recommend that you start by going to your local bike shop, tell them it's your first bike, and let them know what you want to use it for. There's no wrong answer here, and they'll be able to get you on the right bike in the right size. It's also a great idea to start with and continue to use your local bike shop for ongoing maintenance—the more you get to know each other, the better your recommendations, repair priority, and maybe even costs will get.
